The shade is made from a lightweight aluminium sheet, given two folds to wrap and cover the light source, then attached to a turned wooden support.
By loosening the wooden handle you can tilt the shade up and down — a manual version of a dimmer switch. In the closed position it casts a soft background glow; once opened, it lets light spill into the space.
The shade comes in three sizes — small, medium and large. The small suits a bedside, the medium fits a living room, and the large works in larger open spaces, for a more dramatic light.
The 2 Fold is also made in floor-standing and desktop versions — the same configuration as the wall mount, with a baffle behind the wooden post to reflect light, and a stand.
