AutoBox is an exploration into simple mechanics — levers and cams. Each box performs a particular movement to present its contents: cigars, cocktails, a supply of board games, or general homely things. Each unit disguises what it holds, then, asked to show its goods, does so in a surprising way.
The series was produced with Arco, using their CNC routing and cutting; once the panels are cut to size the units are assembled by hand. Shown at the London Design Festival.
